JEC World 2025, the leading international composites show, took place in Paris on 4-6 March. REFRESH participated in the new Research and Innovation Projects programme launched this year, with an exhibition booth and two presentations on the Open Stage.
The REFRESH presentations
Project coordinator Daniel Grisenti of RINA Consulting delivered the presentation REFRESH: from end-of-use blades to new products on 4th and 6th March.
The sessions presented the REFRESH smart, circular concept for enabling improved recycling of glass fibre-reinforced composites from decommissioned wind turbine blades. The REFRESH value chain and innovations were discussed, including:
- Dismantling, shredding, and sorting technologies.
- Customised recycling processes (mechanical, thermo-chemical);
- New products incorporating repurposed parts/recycled materials for use in wind energy and other markets.
- A novel blockchain traceability platform covering the whole value chain.
